Uhm... Anyone know Korean currency?

So. Awkward situation is awkward.

My uncle, who'd been living in South Korea and Hong Kong up until earlier this year, recently moved out of my grandmother's house. And well, yeah, he left a lot of his things - as far as I know, he only took the bare necessities- but she's pretty much throwing it all out or handing it off. (I've not the slightest clue what currency is used in South Korea, but I have 500 of something and a 5-dollar piece from Hong Kong).

I think  it's all a bit much, but my grandma's a stubborn one. She nearly threw away some really expensive, still-in-the-box speakers, but I talked her out of it.

I can't help but wonder how he's gonna react (I'm thinking controlled anger, cos the man's got a glare that'll flay you alive...).

That's all, really.

You have GOT to be shitting me :|

Alright, so. Found out today that there's going to be this extremely kick ass Dissidia Final Fantasy PSP bundle package. Comes with Dissidia, a fancy "mystic silver" PSP, a 2gb memory card and an Advent Children UMD.

What the fuck, world?

Did Sony not just also release information about the PSPGo! system? Aren't both slated to arrive around the same time? Dissidia in late August, the PSPGo! in early Fall? Just how much shit are they planning on piling up?

(I want both, so bad - but I'm more upset over the whole Advent Children part, because I can't find any retailer that sells the damn thing on UMD.)

Concert Love <3<3<3

Fantastic weekend! I can't stop arm-flailing.

Had the first LTAB bout on Friday, in which we came in third place out of third. Some people were mad, but I wasn't because the teams we lost to were extremely talented. Then, myself, Ni and another friend had this awesome sleepover shindig at Mo's house. It was cracktastic. We acted out songs, watched Sweeney Todd, went to the Women's Open Mic and then wrote a song (it's a bit of a WIP). When we went out to the open mic Saturday, we all put on our British accents and talked like that the whole night (and then some the next day).

First, we met some creeper in Starbuck's, in which we all had a nervy b and ran like hell into the Jewel's a builing down the road. Then me and Ni decided to be arses and confuse the everliving shit out of a guy working in the produce section. I walked up and said, "'lo, mate. D'ya sell jaffacakes 'ere?"

It took me spelling out "jaffa" and making unnecessary hand gestures for him to even remotely understand. Then he sent me off to the donut stand. >.< Effink sod. Then we met this half-of-a-creep creeper on the subway, and we totally fooled him into believing we were from England. So of course, after we get off the train, on the bus and off the bus, me and Ni yell, "Ohmygod, that was freakin hilarious!"

We are such tards.

Sunday, second bout, which was not so fun. Judges were on some serious bullshit. No one got high scores, especially the poems that deserved it. One judge gave someone a 6.5. D:<
You don't do that. No one's poem is that shitty, that you give them a 6.5. Because anything lower than a 7 is mortifyingly esteem-damaging. We came in second out of fourth.

But, that's not the important thing.

The important thing is the nevershoutnever! concert me and Mo went to with [info]4evrendvrsayshi . There was a solo singer, Carter Wilson, then The Bigger Lights, The Honorary Title, The Scene Aesthetic and then nevershoutnever!
At one point (I'm pretty sure it was the Bigger Lights) a girl passed out. Sure, the concert was mellow - definately not moshing material - but it was hot. Like... fucking sweltering. So the girl passes out. But then the assholes in the crowd start pushing and shoving and trying to trample over this chick to get closer to the stage. It was irksome. Her friends kept yelling, "Get the fuck back!" and no one was listening.

Then, enter Jude, stage right.

So, this guy (who later introduces himself as Jude, and then is later introduced as the live guitarist of nevershoutnever!) comes on stage and is like, "Are you serious? It's a show. This girl passed out and is in need of medical attention, and you're shoving around? It's not like you're not gonna see the bands play. The show isn't cancelled. Relax. Move out of the way."

He got so many point for that in my book <3<3<3<3<3

After that, things went okay. They kept spraying us with water (Mo and [info]4evrendvrsayshi kept shrieking and ducking). Nevershoutnever! came on and they were really good. Well, I mean, Chris is a tard and his acoustic didn't work for like 20 minutes, then he adopted the crowd and we were all friends and we got to say "ass" multiple times for no reason at all. And he told us to act like we were high off our asses because he felt loopy (and his guitar was outta tune, to which he giggled). And he said "I love you guys so much" repeatedly.

And then, him.

The live bassist of nevershoutnever!

Guh, he is so fucking adorable and he can totally father the children I'll never have, ohmyjish. <3<3<3<3<3<3<3

All's Well That Ends Well?

The whole LTAB conflict has worked itself out :)

I've not seen hide nor hair of Aq for weeks, Ni is officially on the team, and Ke is too. The indie pieces and the group pieces are all written, memorized and wonderful. There was an almost-catastrophic happening, when Eb almost quit the team, because she felt inconsequental to the team, but now she's an alternate. Everything's good to go, and the first bout it Friday, the 27th.

As a side story, Ni pretended to break her arm. Had a sling and everything, acting all morose and woebegone. Mo was nearly beside herself. It was hilarious :D

But of course! lol. That's what concerts are made of! "Free Hugs" signs and the feeling that comes with embracing a complete and total stranger who shares a similar taste in music.

Ugh, again.

I have no idea what is wrong with me, or my brain. Every time I get a SOC (stream of conciousness) in regards to the plotline of a story, something happens, and everything changes. From Voltaire to that nameless thing... and now this. This.. whatever, I guess, has more character, and plot, but only a good quarter of it is developed (Can you say "Epic Failure"?).

This is plot... )

In other news, it's that time of year again - LTAB. This year's team is good (Maybe better than last year's. Maybe.)

Only problem... is everything. The members: Mo, Jo, Ni, Eb, Ti and Aq are superb poets. Their poems make you think, and they all have their distinct styles; it's lovely... But... everything is just... falling apart.

Ni is technically not on the team, cos her dad's decided to cut off any form of social interaction. Aq wasn't initially on the team - LaP was, but he quit. Ke - one of the most talented poets that was in LX (name of the Poetry club) quit because he wasn't on the LTAB team. Jo, the captain, is trying really hard to hold it together, but it's not working. (If you want my honest opinion, Aq bitched her way on to the team, because she constantly and "subtly" complained about LaP and Ni's positions on the team - they just joined LX this year, whilst Aq has been a member for 2 years.) Even though Aq is on the team now, she's not contributed a thing, while Mo has contributed the most. Our Sponsor, Mrs. Be, is new (our old sponsor transferred schools) and things are different, which a few members can't seem to grasp. LX doesn't work like it did last year, and because of miscommunication between us and Mrs. Be, LX almost disbanded, because almost everyone left. While the LTAB team meets, it's just me, Ra, Ja, Keo, Ek, Mak, De and Jant. It's gotten a little better this week, but I'm honestly not sure if they'll be ready when the LTAB prelims roll around.

Writer's Block: The Wrath of Ohrwurm

German has a word for everything, like ohrwurm. Translated literally as "earworm" in English, it's the word for songs that get stuck in your head and won't go away. What earworm of a song do you most dread burrowing into your head?

ohrwurm, huh? I'll hafta use that more often... Y'know that song that everybody but you seems to like, and they sing it all the time, and then it becomes the ohrwurm that's the temporary bane of your existance? Yeah... Hate those. Also, anything Disney related.

Does Anybody Have Any Kava Kava?

My insomnia is screwing up again. I've been up for a good 30 hours and time has decided to grind to a halt. If I could even fall asleep now, I'd only get an hour and a half, tops. This blows. I've tried a bunch of supposed remedies - extract of Valerian root, chamomile tea, meditation - but nothing works more than a few times. My life is just a heaping pile of failure and do not want right now.

Perfection....

Aah, this weekend past was absolutely awesome. And I know it's a bit late in the week, but meh.

Firstly, I hung out with my best friend of ten years for the first time in a long time, and we had celebratory pocky and watched old Scooby Doo movies XD. Then when to the Family Force 5 concert, which rocked the socks right off my feet.

The first act was Ultraviolet Sound, and they were okay. The lead, Sarah, reminds me of Fergie. Next up was playradioplay and Danger Radio. PRP was amazing live (and their drummer is so adorable), as was Danger Radio. I've now limewired every song by the both of them that I could find. Then, Family Force 5. They've been my favourite band for a while, what with all the others changing their styles and bandmembers... >.>... The charisma was astonishing. They all came decked out in leather and shades, except Xanadu, who just had on casual clothes. And of course, because it was humid as fuck in there, they started stripping.

Chap Stique's pants were extremely fuckable. The top was cotton, and it had two parallel black lines that connected at the knee, and the calves were made of spandex and were skin-tight and ohmygodyes. He tried to be all seductive, and ran his tongue up the neck of his guitar, but ended up spitting god-knows-what out of his mouth half a second later. And I envy the lucky bastard who caught the chap stick he threw into the crowd. Phatty ended up break dancing when they played Numb, and I did not know he was that muscular. Nay Daddy ended up looking a lot younger and adorable because his hair wasn't dyed, nor was he wearing make-up. Crouton had Xanadu help him do a headstand on the drumset, then he started humping it during Kountry Gentlemen. Soul Glow Activatur was as attractive as ever, and he's traded in his Optimus Prime helmet/mask for a giant cardboard triangle decorated like the FF5 diamond. The Hulk Hands stayed though. They ended up playing a lot of tracks from Dance Or Die and Business Up Front, Party In The Back and even one or two from The Phamily.

When they finished their initial set, the entire crowd chanted for one more song, and we got five. :3 (And we got Soul Glow Activatur's "Remember, Jesus loves you guys! :D" too!)

I love concerts

Most disgusting? Uhm... lesse... that would definately be this really icky concoction I drank for a dare. It had school cafeteria milk, eggs, salt, and pepper, water, some other random stuff and if I'm not mistaken- a few people's saliva. I did get paid for it, but I mostly did it for shits and giggles, and the reactions I got.

*Is No Longer Amused*

Well... In my mind, Voltaire has been usurped and beaten down by something else. Isn't that just great?

This new... thing... doesn't have a title nor a set plot. Just these three main characters and the fact that it might be under the historical fiction genre. And gods know why, it might be a comic-sort thing... My brain and its inconsistency are going to be the death of me...

And, on top of that, this thing is leeching random tidbits from Voltaire, which I now doubt I'll ever get around to... Damn...

Click it! )

This will more than likely take priority over pretty much everything else. *sigh* I blame AP World History. It shouldn't be that oddly interesting....
